Which Malaysian companies actually have good cultures in 2025? Crowdsourcing real answers

by Xinyi Chen·May 27, 2026

I keep seeing the same company names on "best employer" lists that are clearly sponsored. Asking here for honest opinions.

From what I've gathered from people I trust: Grab Malaysia, Funding Societies, and Carsome tend to get consistent positive feedback on actual culture rather than perks. For more traditional sectors, Sunway Group and Sime Darby come up more positively than expected.

Would love to hear from people actually working at these places — or anywhere else where the culture is genuinely good, not just the website copy.

Our company banned remote work after the CEO read an article about productivity. Resigned two months later. Now fully remote at a startup and output is better.

Malaysian traffic is genuinely a quality-of-life issue. KL folks driving 45 min each way are losing 7+ hours a week just sitting in cars.

Counter-argument: some people really do work better in a structured office environment. The key is choice, not mandate.
