Got ghosted after my final round interview — herE's what I learned and what I did

Final round, four interviewers, went well, they said "we'll be in touch by Friday." Friday came and went. Then another week. Then silence.
What I did:
Sent a polite follow-up on the following Monday referencing my conversation and reiterating interest. Waited 5 days. Sent one more short email asking if there was an update. No response after that.
What I learned:
Ghosting after final rounds is more common than people admit and it says more about the company than about you. If their hiring process ends this way, the internal communication is probably the same.
What I'd do differently:
Get a concrete follow-up timeline and a contact name before leaving the interview. "When should I expect to hear back and who should I contact?" is a completely reasonable question and sets an expectation.
Also: keep applying in parallel. Never stop the process for one opportunity.
