Best co-working spaces in KL — ranked by a freelancer who's tried most of them

by Azri Azlan·May 22, 2026

Tested 11 co-working spaces in KL and PJ over the past 18 months. Here's the honest ranking based on: internet reliability, noise level, value, and community.

Tier 1 (worth the money):
- Common Ground (multiple locations): consistently fast internet, professional atmosphere, good meeting rooms
- Colony (especially KLCC): premium feel, excellent facilities, higher price but justified

Tier 2 (solid choices):
- Worq (Uptown Damansara): good community, reasonable price
- Spaces (various): reliable but corporate feel

Tier 3 (situational):
- Several smaller independent co-working spaces in Bangsar and Mont Kiara — cheaper but internet inconsistency is an issue

Avoid for deep work: Café co-working is social, not productive. If you need focus, pay for a proper space. The RM20–30 day pass at Common Ground is usually worth it versus a café.

I switched from car to MRT + Grab on weeks I have no field meetings. Monthly transport cost dropped by RM 400 and my stress levels dropped more.

The LRT to Bangsar is genuinely underused. I got a seat both ways for three months before my company moved to PJ. Miss it.

Motorbike commuting in KL is faster but the fatality statistics are sobering. Everyone should weigh that risk consciously.
