What to put on your CV when your internship was basically admin work

It happens. You were promised meaningful work and ended up scheduling meetings and reformatting PowerPoints. Here's how to present it honestly.
Don't list tasks โ list what you learned. Even admin work teaches something. Coordinating a 50-person event tests project management. Managing communications for a team of 20 tests professional writing.
Find the one meaningful thing and lead with it. Every internship has at least one moment of real contribution. If you compiled a report someone used, if you ran a single process end-to-end โ lead with that.
Use numbers. "Managed logistics for 3 client events attended by 200+ participants" sounds more substantive than "helped with events."
Be honest with interviewers. Honesty about a limited internship paired with what you learned reads better than fabrication.
