Tutoring as a side income — how I earn RM2,000/month teaching A-Levels online

What I teach: A-Level Economics and STPM Economics. I'm not a trained teacher, I have a degree in economics and worked in policy before my current corporate role.
Where I find students: SuperProf Malaysia and Tutor.com.my both work for initial traction. Most students now come through referrals from existing students.
Rate: RM80—120/hour depending on level and frequency. 20—25 hours/month = RM2,000.
Online vs in-person: I do 100% online via Google Meet. The student gets a Jamboard or I screen-share notes. No travel time, more flexibility. Students prefer it too, they can join from anywhere.
Time investment: About 3—4 hours per week including prep. The prep time is front-loaded, after a year, most of my lesson materials are reusable.
Limiting factor: Student scheduling. Exam period (April, October) is intense. Holiday periods are slow.
