The GFIT Intern, Java Software Development is responsible for supporting Seagate's Global Factory Information Technology organization. This role involves collaboration with a skilled developer and a multi-site Agile team to design and optimize systems that leverage advanced technologies.
Job Description
As a GFIT Intern, you will engage in day-to-day activities that include coding, system design, and collaboration within a dynamic Agile environment. You will work closely with experienced professionals to enhance your skills and contribute to innovative projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with developers to design and optimize software systems.
- Integrate Generative AI features into applications through APIs and tools.
- Develop efficient code using industry-standard software development practices.
- Participate in the SAFe Agile methodology within a cross-functional team.
- Support IT needs across R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Equipment management.
- Assist in the implementation of Copilot for code generation.
- Engage in research to explore the potential of Generative AI in software development.
Job Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Strong programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern technologies.
Experience with Java, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and Oracle DB.
Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Passion for research and exploring Generative AI in the software industry.
Motivated to grow and receive mentorship in the specific technology stack.
