Role Summary
This role is a GFIT Intern position in Java Software Development at Seagate's Penang office. The position involves working with a global team and gaining hands-on experience in AI and software development practices.
Job Description
The GFIT Intern will be part of Seagate's Global Factory Information Technology organization, which supports IT needs across R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Equipment management globally. The role involves collaboration with a skilled developer and multi-site Agile team, designing and optimizing systems that incorporate Copilot for code generation, and integrating GenAI features into applications through APIs and tools. The position also includes developing efficient code using industry-standard software development practices and participating in the SAFe Agile methodology within a cross-functional team environment.
Job Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Strong programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern technologies.
Experience with Java, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and Oracle DB.
Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and collaborate with others.
Passion for research and exploring the potential of Generative AI in the software industry.
Motivated to grow and receive mentorship in the specific technology stack.
