
The Regional Tax Manager role in Bangsar South involves managing tax compliance and supporting the regional tax team in international corporate income tax, indirect taxes, withholding tax, and transfer pricing. The position requires handling tax planning opportunities, mitigating tax risks, ensuring compliance with local legislation, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
The role involves managing and supporting tax compliance for international business, covering corporate income tax, indirect taxes such as GST, VAT, Sales and Services Tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing. The position includes supporting the regional tax team in identifying tax planning opportunities, mitigating tax risks, and thoroughly documenting tax positions. It requires independent analysis and resolution of tax and transfer pricing matters in consultation with business stakeholders and advisors, assisting in preparing and filing tax returns and reports, ensuring compliance with local legislation, and monitoring tax regulatory changes. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external tax stakeholders and contributing to financial system and process improvements are also part of the role.
Strong international tax knowledge and a professional accounting qualification (CPA preferred) and willing to be very hands-on.
Bachelor degree and/or professional qualification in Taxation, Accounting, or related fields.
Over 6 years tax experience in public accounting firm (Big 4 preferred) and/or MNC handling international CIT, Indirect tax and withholding tax compliance.
Deep familiarity with transfer pricing / corporate income tax, VAT/GST regimes, domestic and international withholding tax, tax compliance requirements, and tax audits.
Strong analytical skills with solid knowledge and experiences on taxation.
Transfer pricing experience would be an added advantage.
A self-starter, who is detailed-oriented, resourceful, able to work independently, multi-task and efficiently manage multiple tight deadlines.
Excellent business focus and able to propose solutions to tax issues after consulting with internal business stakeholders and external and internal tax, legal and financial advisors.
Good communication skill who can establish close collaboration with internal stakeholder and manage external advisors.
Ability to read and write Chinese will be an advantage.
Pro-active, hands on, enthusiastic and not afraid to ask questions and challenge the status quo.
Experience with E-commerce and tax compliance matters for SEA region would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
