Everyone in the company was super nice no matter what department you were from. Also, there were so many amazing events that were planned for the interns.
There was a significantly older work force compared to younger which always made me question mobility within the company. Other than that, nothing else negative.
Good resilient company to work for and very international look
Career progression within the company is very difficult and also mind the gap in salary market rate Vs Canon I believe it is estimated at a whopping 30% !
Senior software engineer
Sufficient training, Travel opportunities abroad
Slow growth, Archaic dev processes
Manager
This was an excellent working location, with very experienced resource in both technical and non-technical areas. Multinational exposure was an added bonus.
In my opinion, it appeared difficult to get move anything forward at speed. There appeared to be significant 'pushback' from experienced resource who had been with the organization for quite some time.
Ea country manager
Good working environment, global brand and good salary
Growth scope very minimum
Strengthen your technical and management competency via challenging projects Enrich your personal experiences via lengthy business trips or assignment overseas
The challenges can be really challenging ;)
No pros to list for Canon
Just a number not a person
Executive
more Risk averse and very conservative in management
Not innovative and does not embrace changes
Data analyst
Free parking, coffee, fruits, and nothing else
Working at Canon has been a challenging experience due to a toxic environment created by senior staff. Many of the seniors exhibit bullying behaviour, racism, and dishonesty. New joiners are often treated like outsiders, while management shows undue trust in senior staff, even when serious ethical concerns arise. If you attempt to leverage your skills and experiences to contribute to Canon’s growth—something you highlight during the hiring process—you may find yourself bullied and embarrassed instead. Opportunities to share ideas or work on projects are virtually nonexistent. Training is inadequate, and if you take the initiative to learn on your own and propose suggestions, management may view you as a problem. New joiners often become scapegoats in this environment, which is rife with micromanagement. Constant email checks and scrutiny of your behaviour create an atmosphere of fear. Additionally, the office location is inconvenient, making it difficult to balance work and personal life—it's a 30-minute walk from the nearest train station. There are no social events to foster a sense of community. Overall, I would not recommend working at Canon unless significant changes are made to address these issues.
a global recognised brand with quality products
HR is a disaster, communication is meaningless, vision is absent and there is no feeling within the company of any need to change from the old days of box shifting and sales. The outside world has changed and sadly Canon is not recognising this and probably will not notice as usual until 2 or 3 years after every one else has.
