The environment in my department is amazing. Most of the people are lovely to work with and are friendly. They are open to new ideas and collaboration, if you are willing to put your ideas out there. Genuine mistakes also doesn't penalise you so long as you understand and learn from it. And this is refreshing from the previous companies I've worked at. Among executive-level peers, my experience with them have been great. They are more than colleagues, and it feels like we're truly a family most of the time. Because of it, we're always striving to push each other to be better without steamrolling over each other's concerns. There also isn't the looming feeling of judgement when you leave for home on the clock, which is very different from companies I've experienced and heard from. You are encouraged to have a good work-life balance (though there will always be the occasional OT or emergency, which is expected). The project work can swing from being extremely interesting and creatively challenging to small, minuscule last-minute changes, which is very normal. But it's definitely a good insight into how the industry works, especially for those who are new to the industry. This company is a good first stepping stone, especially in ensuring what kind of qualities in a company you will want to look for in the future. Highly recommend to those who are just starting out and want a taste of a near-perfect transition into the industry.
There is a clear "sacrifice the forest to save a bunch of trees" mentality with higher management. Because of it, it has caused some dissatisfaction among the executive-level employees. Some valuable feedback from these employees are not acknowledged or are 'tai chi'-ed away because of higher level ego. Thankfully however, you don't really feel this directly unless you happen to be involved. In my department, there is also the problem of higher-ups not really knowing the product they are expecting from the teams. Therefore, they set unreasonable timelines and requirements (often last-minute) without understanding exactly why some things cannot possibly be met. This problem is also further exacerbated when there is too much "talking over"/"I know best" and not enough "listening", especially towards the people who work directly on the products, and therefore should know more than those who have a general overview. There is also a problem of slow career advancement too. If you're expecting to climb the career ladder, this company isn't the best truthfully. Though you gain a lot of experience, management tend to be stingy with the titles and salary raises during appraisals.

Secure job. Learn alot. If you're not doing well in one department, they encourage you to try a different department and willing to train you. They have kitchen crew that feeds you. They show up on rewarding you.
Typical political favorites. Brown nosing gets you so easily high up, and 1 mistake can easily be your fall down. All your hard work can easily be forgotten or outweighed by 1 mistake. They always choose a favorite to promote. Sometimes its too obvious they promote one particular ethnic race than the other. regardless of your years of service.
