Casual sales assistant
Better pay compared to many retail part-time jobs Good if you're a student looking to make extra income
- Limited growth for long-term part-timers, with no clear increment scheme in place. - Scheduling can require employees to work 7–8 consecutive days, whether half shifts or full shifts, which may cause a physical toll. - Frequent rotation between different outlets may feel disruptive. - Shifts are long and demanding. - Miscommunication and last-minute schedule changes are challenging. - Part-timers may feel under-recognised compared to full-timers, despite often working more hours for lower pay. - A tendency toward micromanagement can sometimes limit autonomy. - Monthly work schedules can sometimes extend beyond the expected hours; employees are encouraged to use leave days if they prefer shorter monthly shifts. - Expectations around attendance can feel challenging at times, especially in situations following medical leave. - Overtime or additional hours (e.g., for stock arrivals or start/end-of-day tasks) & any medical claims are not compensated.
Marketing
A competent team with a great team culture. A pretty flat hierarchy with mostly clear and distinct roles. Many opportunities to learn and grow should you seek for it.
Keeping up with high expectations can feel taxing to some, yet a good challenge to others
Sales executive
- You'll be able to meet and work with friendly and helpful coworkers. - Chance to gain experience and knowledge as a salesperson. - An alright salary package for starters.
- Upper management have insanely high expectations when it comes achieving sales targets, especially if you're a full timer and this can cause some mental pressure and burnout. - Lack of manpower can lead to you working 6-7 days a week, which can take a toll on your physical and mental health. - Intake process for new hires, especially full timers, is too picky and strict. - Lack of proper communication such as schedule changes can lead to misunderstandings and issues.
