Good Structure, Upper management seem good, Well organised Internally, Coaching and Development team and HR are good, Other Teams across the business look to be more enjoyable places to work than the team I was in.
In my second week one of the managers said to the other manager “has anyone done a glassdoor review for us recently” the other manager replied “Yes I did one when the new guy started” It was said so casually as if it was such a regular and normal thing to do that I then doubted every single glassdoor review that made the place look appealing when I accepted the job. Because of this I have struggled to trust any review I see on this site now. From there the place went downhill pretty fast, Most of the things that were promised in my interview were very quickly proven wrong, they said all the right things to get me there and then took all that away once I was settled. For example my start and finish times went up from the contracted 40 hours a week to 55 hours per week. The managers used to come into the office from 11am and leave at 2pm but then expected us to stay till 6pm even after we had gotten there at 6:30am. Flexible working was introduced but was used as a threat rather than to enhance employee wellbeing. my experience of the team I was in was that nothing you ever did was good enough, If you had 5 targets to hit, and you hit 4 of them, they would grill you and have you in the office to be shouted at about the one target that you didn’t hit. Any time where you didn’t hit a target they got rid of your work from home flexibility. They would change it within less than a days notice, and text you in the morning to tell you to come in, but they would never practice what they preached. The only reason this place doesn’t get a 1 star review is because I have a feeling it was only a few teams across the business that were like this, rather than the company on a whole.
