Hard to get promote here

Need to push sales but thats normal in retail industry

Communication method is very very inefficient, with them scaling up and number of retail staff growing, announcements like promotions, product, etc always not communicated very well to each staff, resulting in inconsistent service in different stores Many processes can be automated, but alot still using manual causing alot of inefficiency in service, for example, engraving name still using pen and paper to right, instead of tablet

Always changing, no stability, no security

Dealing with demanding customers can be emotionally challenging. Sometimes I need to encounter difficult situations such as handling customer complaint, managing crowded spaces and resolving conflicts. Maintaining composure and providing excellent customer service under pressure can be very stressful sometimes

met a few unpleasant sales staff - no matter which outlet it is. racism is inevitable when the majority staff is of one race, but here to share on the ones who are legit a wolf in sheep's clothing; perhaps my headline best explains it. bcoz of commission all staff are competing for sales. start to chop "this my customer" "oh i answered their question earlier so automatically means my customer" list goes on and on. yall might think during more slow sales period things like this would happen, but tbh it happens all the time! especially during our busiest days/ "hot" outlets like some mall beside the twin towers. then no one would help you even just to pass a pen cause they're so obsessed and hung up on clicking that final checkout button to guarantee their sales. this behaviour i've seen only comes from their full time staffs. and yet, those are the same people who somehow conveniently choose to step away from a sale the moment it becomes a “difficult” customer. the whole culture shifts when it comes to commission, not to mention those staff that can sweet talk (always male staff) their way so they always chop those rich tai tai that comes once in a while and buys in bulk. cant even imagine what retail culture must be like in fine goods, tech or related industries. also ever since the revamp/ add on stuff the stores super bright = super hot and not well ventilated. even tho aircond is centralized, still no empathy from management towards employees standing all day with no care for their comfort. overall rpg's retail space quite mid la

I was so underpaid after working for years with them. Very little increments and bonuses while they make so much profits. One of the boss has asked me very inappropriate questions coz we were out of workplace . Often uses the term “family” to sugarcoat things. They are racists too! Hr is always ratting you out if you ever complain…just run

Since the change of system and newcomers, its not the same anymore, more politics now

Poor Management and lack of proper structure

Very fast phased and constant changes here and there as the company direction evolves, but it should be alright if you're highly adaptable

So new, company is run by youngsters and lack of experience from management can be a big bummer for those from more established organizations before.

Limited career growth with favouritism. Management and founders have no clarity, no transparency and always change directions. Highly political space and toxic environment with yes man culture. Founders particularly have no empathy and directions.

Bad management especially the founder team

Management has become more strict and complicated, Have to deal with the management and customers, Most likely to be overworked if not enough staffs

Weak process governance, anyone can make changes

certain leads were not as good as they appear to be, some were selfish

Volatility of your tasks, goals and targets

Things change quickly, need to be flexible

Process and systems change often. Takes time to adapt and slows down ops during the initial implementation.

Management has no clear direction, often shifts blame to others without taking any form of accountability, and does not have people mindset.

Maybe can interview full time worker more thoroughly because some colleagues have bad attitude others but most of the colleagues i met are good.

So many things need to change start from the management side

- lack sense of belonging especially when you're the minority - there will be lots of changes everyday and sometimes too many things going on at the same time - lack of good training as in OTJ, structured and in a way thats best in understanding how the dept work. might feel lost

Lack of proper recognition for efforts: One aspect that could be improved in my previous company was the recognition of employee efforts. Often, our hard work and contributions were not acknowledged or appreciated, which could be demotivating. Limited opportunities for input and voice: The company had a hierarchical structure that sometimes limited opportunities for employees to express their opinions and ideas.
