I worked remotely from Bali for a month — here's what happened

Company approved WFH from anywhere. Internet was fine (co-working space). Time zone was same as KL. Productivity was identical. Cost of living saved me RM1,500 vs KL. Would do again.

Coworking spaces in Bali are full of Malaysian remote workers now. The network you build there is surprisingly useful.

Tax resident status can be affected by long absences. Check Lembaga Hasil before planning more than 2 months away.
