My company says unlimited sick leave. In practice, taking mental health days is unofficially judged. Policy only works if culture follows.
The policy says one thing and the culture does another. I cancelled a mental health day when I felt peer pressure from my team.
Leaders set the tone. If the director never takes sick days, the whole team feels they cannot either.
