Anyone working remotely for a foreign company while in Malaysia?

Doing it for a UK startup. Paid in GBP, declared to LHDN. Invoiced through sole proprietorship. Best of both worlds.

Tax treaty between Malaysia and UK means you are not double-taxed. Get a tax consultant to set this up properly.

The EPF void is the hidden cost. Run voluntary EPF contributions on top to keep retirement savings on track.
