The Production Team Leader 2 is a first-level supervisor responsible for managing a team of approximately 10 to 25 employees within a single function or work group. Reporting to a second-level manager, the role includes direct supervision, scheduling, budget execution, enforcing policies and procedures, and ensuring the achievement of quality, output, and efficiency targets in a manufacturing environment. The role involves coordination of resources such as materials, personnel, and equipment to meet production schedules and quality standards, resolving production bottlenecks, managing operating expenditure, and conducting employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions as necessary. The position requires overseeing routine employee work, contributing to annual plans and objectives, and participating in hiring and disciplinary processes. The work is performed according to established professional standards, with a focus on meeting production goals, maintaining product quality, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The health and safety guidelines of the manufacturing environment are to be strictly followed, and occasional travel may be required.
Four to six years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of the production process and the tools and equipment used in the process.
Knowledge and understanding of the business unit and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery and the profitability of the unit.
Ability to coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production quality and quantity metrics.
Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve high production levels within tight time deadlines and in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.
Ability to use some or all of the following PC applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, PowerPoint.
Duties are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, and temperature extremes.
Duties may require periodic sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
May require occasional travel.
All demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines.
