Role Summary
The Commodity Management Specialist is responsible for managing strategic and high-value commodities. This role involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and providing performance reporting to senior management.
Job Description
In this position, you will engage in day-to-day management of commodities, ensuring effective supplier relationships and cost-effective solutions. You will work closely with senior executives and lead negotiation teams to drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage global or regional responsibility for strategic and high-value commodities, including price determination and negotiations.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for managed commodities, focusing on competitive pricing and supplier analysis.
- Act as the primary interface with suppliers for relationship management and contract negotiations.
- Source products and services to maintain continuity of supply while achieving cost efficiency.
- Lead negotiation teams for corporate commodity councils and customer material commitments.
- Provide site direction and performance reporting to senior management.
- Drive process improvements, including the development of IT tools.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in commodity management or procurement.
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and cost management.
Excellent communication skills in English.
