The Senior Lead Engineer in Project Management is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing complex engineering projects and programs. The role involves managing cross-functional global teams, coordinating multiple projects, and handling program budgets and risks to achieve successful outcomes.
The Senior Lead Engineer, Program/Project Management is responsible for planning and directing design engineers and other technical engineers working on specific projects. This role manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs and oversees large projects with complex scopes, multiple streams of work, and inter-dependencies. The Senior Lead Engineer manages programs consisting of multiple projects of medium complexity, leads cross-functional global teams, communicates status to business leaders and customers, coordinates site-wide deployment efforts, and implements changes in the product lifecycle process. The role includes program planning and monitoring, driving core teams to meet objectives, defining program governance, managing budgets, handling risks and issues, coordinating projects and resources, aligning deliverables to outcomes, and managing program documentation.
Manage programs of medium complexity involving multiple projects and lead cross-functional, global core teams.
Present and communicate status to business leaders and customers.
Review and interpret customer specifications and provide customer feedback.
Coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
Implement changes as directed in the product lifecycle process and recommend process improvements.
Plan the overall program and monitor progress.
Drive creation, review, approval, and updating of Program Plan/WBS including resources.
Perform daily program management throughout the program life.
Drive the program core team to meet or exceed program objectives including cost, quality, schedule, features, fulfillment, solution delivery, and customer-specific needs.
Define the program governance controls.
Manage the program budget and forecast actuals against plan including income, revenue, cost, labor, and expenses.
Manage risks and issues and take corrective measures.
Coordinate projects and their interdependencies and manage resources across projects.
Align program deliverables to program outcomes with assistance from the business change manager.
Manage main program documentation such as the Program Initiation document.
Work performed mainly in a normal office environment with extended sitting and sustained visual concentration on monitors and detailed data.
Perform repetitive manual movements such as data entry and use of computer mouse or calculator frequently.
Occasional travel may be required.
Have 4 to 6 years of typical experience.
Possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, with educational requirements that may vary by geography.
