The Chemist role involves conducting chemical testing on water and wastewater samples to ensure safety and compliance with standards. The position requires preparing reagents, operating laboratory instruments, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements.
The Chemist is responsible for conducting both routine and non-routine chemical testing on water and wastewater samples, including tests such as COD, BOD, Ammonical Nitrogen, Oil and Grease, Free Chlorine, Sulphide, Fluoride, Phenol, and Cyanide. The role involves preparing reagents, standardizing and calibrating standards, performing sample preparation, digestion, and extraction according to methods, and operating various instruments like UV-VIS, Discrete Analyzer, Distillation unit, Flash Point analyzer, and Bomb Calorimeter. The Chemist also maintains laboratory records and worksheets in compliance with ISO 17025 requirements.
Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or Environmental Science.
Relevant experience preferred but not essential.
Possess own transport preferred.
Self-motivated, aggressive, hard working, and willing to learn.
Dedicated, well organized, and able to work independently.
Good communication skills and a team player.
Able to multitask and perform overtime if assigned.
