Role Summary

The Director, Employee & Labor Relations (APAC) is responsible for leading the regional employee relations team to ensure compliance and maintain positive labor relations. This role significantly impacts the organization's ability to manage complex employee and labor relations issues across the APAC region.

Job Description

In this role, the Director will oversee day-to-day operations of the employee relations team, managing investigations and fostering relationships with labor unions and internal stakeholders. The work environment is dynamic, requiring collaboration with various teams to promote fairness and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the regional employee relations team to ensure compliance and reduce business risks.
  • Manage complex investigations related to employee and labor relations issues.
  • Coach leaders on best practices in employee relations and labor negotiations.
  • Partner with labor unions to foster collaborative labor/management relationships.
  • Act as the lead labor negotiator during contract negotiations.
  • Develop and execute employee relations strategies that promote inclusivity.
  • Oversee labor contract administration and compliance with labor laws.

Job Requirements

10+ years of experience in Human Resources.

5+ years leading complex investigations.

5+ years of leadership experience.

5+ years of experience in labor relations, including lead labor negotiator experience.

Strong grounding in labor and employment law in Malaysia.
