Job Description
The EMC Design Engineer role at Celestica in Penang is focused on contributing to global design engineering teams by developing advanced Hardware Platform Solutions across Networking, Storage, and server sectors, including Cloud, AI, machine learning, Edge, and 5G deployments. The position involves responsibilities primarily related to EMC design and testing, collaborating with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to meet project goals in terms of time, cost, and quality from an EMC perspective. Additional duties include guiding product design to manage EMC risks, specifying EMC test cases, verifying EMC testing, liaising with external laboratories, generating test reports, and supporting certification processes for safety and EMC approvals. The role requires technical support for customer projects involving EMC topics and expects the incumbent to maintain documentation and quality standards while working both independently and within teams.
Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years experience in EMC test, design, and certification.
Proficient in EMC principles.
Proficient in EMC standards and tests, experienced with EMC test equipment and software.
Proficient in using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and receivers.
Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve EMC and safety compliance issues.
Familiarity with worldwide certifications and agencies such as UL, TUV, FCC, VCCI, BSMI, KCC, ANATEL, NEBS.
Familiarity with international regulatory standards like CISPR32/35, GR1089, EN300386, UL60950, IEC62368.
Experience in EMC design for Storage, Server, or Communication network switch products is preferred.
Experience in AC or DC power supply EMC design is preferred.
Experience with HFSS, CST, SPICE, or other EMC simulation software is preferred.
Fluent English skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, capable of international communication.
Excellent documentation skills including record maintenance, tracking, and document traceability.
Good initiative, positive personality, and self-motivation.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work individually and in a team environment.
Educational background includes a full-time Bachelor or Master degree in Microwave, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
Duties are performed in a normal office environment with requirements for extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration.
Repetitive manual movements such as data entry and computer use are frequently required.
Occasional travel may be required.
