The Generalist Intern — Tech & Cybersecurity is responsible for supporting engineering and cybersecurity efforts in an early-stage startup. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, collaborating with founders and senior engineers on various technical projects.
Job Description
The intern will engage in day-to-day tasks that include feature development, security tooling, and incident response playbooks. This position provides an opportunity to work on both front-end and back-end development, security monitoring, and automation projects.
Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with founders and senior engineers on feature development. - Assist in the creation of security tooling and incident response playbooks. - Participate in front-end and back-end development tasks. - Conduct security monitoring and vulnerability scanning. - Document technical processes and findings. - Automate small projects to improve efficiency. - Engage in product-related tasks to enhance user experience.
Job Requirements
Currently studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, InfoSec, or a related field.
Some coding experience, preferably in JavaScript, Node.js, or Python.
Familiarity with Git and basic command-line tools.
Basic understanding of web security concepts such as XSS, CSRF, and OWASP Top 10.
Experience with containers (Docker) and cloud basics (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in small teams.
