Role Summary

The Production Cum Purchasing Clerk is responsible for managing product costing and supplier negotiations. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that raw materials meet quality standards and are procured efficiently to support production operations.

Job Description

In this position, you will engage in daily interactions with various teams including production, R&D, QC, design, and marketing to ensure that material costs are updated and communicated effectively. You will also be responsible for negotiating with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of materials for production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update product costing and inform management of material cost changes.
  • Coordinate with production, R&D, QC, designer, and marketing teams to ensure raw materials meet customer requirements.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers and obtain at least three quotations before issuing purchase orders.
  • Regularly update purchase specifications, supplier lists, and price lists.
  • Ensure materials are purchased with the correct price, quantity, and specifications.
  • Notify storekeepers of deliveries via Delivery Notes.
  • Inform suppliers of rejected materials through Return Forms.
  • Compile purchasing documents for filing and payment processing.
  • Source new materials and suppliers.
  • Assist with document photocopying and distribution.

Job Requirements

Proficient in Mandarin is an added advantage.

Relevant experience in purchasing or production roles.

Strong negotiation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
