Job Description
Sunway Education Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Bandar Sunway, Selangor. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, designing, and documenting business and application requirements, leading all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and developing secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. This role also involves collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, providing technical leadership, and implementing improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Job Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of working experience in software development and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
Competent in PHP, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, Bootstrap, and SQL.
Strong understanding of software development best practices, software architecture, design patterns, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Proven experience in designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and system integrations.
Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) would be an added advantage.
Experience with .NET, Node.js, Python, React.js, Vue.js, Flutter, or React Native would be an added advantage.
Exposure to low-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform, OutSystems) or Oracle Forms and Reports would be an added advantage.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior software engineers, with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Possess high initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team, with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills in English.
