Job Description
The Technical Buyer will engage in day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring that all mechanical parts meet safety and specification requirements. The role involves collaboration with various departments to support spare parts stock planning and processing purchase requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on technical specifications and safety standards.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to achieve cost savings.
- Process purchase requests and manage procurement timelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in spare parts stock planning.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to understand parts requirements.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and new products.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier performance.
Job Requirements
Candidate must possess a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent from a recognized university/college.
At least 3-4 years of hands-on purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in indirect procurement (MRO, spare parts, tooling).
Strong vendor sourcing, negotiation, and cost-saving skills.
Proficient in ERP systems, Excel, and data analysis.
