
The Technical Buyer plays a crucial role in ensuring the procurement of mechanical parts and spare parts for utility systems. This position requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
The Technical Buyer will be responsible for purchasing mechanical parts and spare parts for utility systems. This includes ensuring parts meet safety and specification requirements, checking technical details before buying, and managing supplier relationships. The role also involves cost control, processing purchase requests, and supporting spare parts stock planning while collaborating with various departments.
Candidate must possess a minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering/ Purchasing / Supply Chain Management or equivalent from recognised university / college.
At least 3-4 years of hands-on purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in indirect procurement (MRO, spare parts, tooling).
Strong vendor sourcing, negotiation, and cost-saving skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and PM programs.
Proficient in ERP systems, Excel, and data analysis.
Ability to manage supplier relationships, contracts, and LTAs.
Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
