Stressful Work-Life Balance not perfect With the recent times Sales are challenging

Limited opportunity for progression in Scotland

Very little or small salary increases. Not much room for advancement, unless you are a man (preferably Japanese). No flexibility in work hours, penalized for being 30 seconds late. Very political work culture. Very hard to respect managers who are not stand up people both at work and in their personal lives. Micromanaging at its finest.

- 2 year bond - Phones not allowed - No internet access - Strict measures hamper work performance - No bootcamp training

No job growth or opportunity. Low pay (not even market rates). Poor management. Very wasteful of money. Virtually no wage increase. Employees not valued at all. Waste of time being here. HR useless (dont care about you.. only about the company). Location. Job security (they cull 10-100 jobs each year from different departments). Offshore elements of dev to other countries.

The work life balance potential is fantastic. For some it works out and others don't get even close (double standards and ridiculous reasons given especially when you look at the government official legal guidelines), therefore it only happens with the right managers and HR management which is sadly lacking. So slow to market or act on data fact. For a company like Canon it's quite frankly embarrassing, easily losing out massively (most importantly against it's quicker and more agile competitors) by not competing when they could have absolutely been #1 from the start and for years while certain segments were growing which they no longer are... Great to be #1 now but far, far too late to have benefited from it properly. Canon Inc! Most of the above seems to stem from the hands of the Regional companies being tied by what appears to now be a dinosaur of a company rather than a tech leader. If you check the Canon Inc website & look at the R&D it completely makes the above statement seem ridiculous! So if the R&D is real (which it is) and all the patents are up there with the best (which they are), then why on earth are Canon in this position now...?
