Good Working Environment is there
Bad salary for the time
Purchasing specialist
Big group, systematic organization, great to start a career
low pay, top-down order, few chances to ladder up
Finance director
good circumstance as working place.
no clear future plan is shared.
Flexibility and open environment
Organization structure
Awesome work culture, relaxed environment. Very good hours, out the door everyday by 5. Great benefits.
Might have to move horizontally to go up.
Not very many pros, to be honest. Lots of vacation, though.
Canon does not seem to take into account previous experience when seeking for internal advancement.
Facilities engineer
Plenty of leaves per year, paid OT
Low salary (provincial rate) in relation to workload which is too much
Business manager
*Good work-family life balance *Rewards & recognitions are good for well performing employees *Unlike typical sales organisation which only drives for numbers and not considerate for the emplyoess ,Canon has a human touch, Seniors works like mentors to bring out the best . *Perfect work culture with respect for human values. *Can easily spend 5years average becuase at the inittal phase the career growth remains on track
*Pays less than many of the IT cos.industry *Promotions are mere cosmetic changes with hardly any change in the profile *very difficult to change into differnt verticals and climb up the hirarachy . *Often frustrating when seniors stick to there postions for too long hindering the career growth of the juniors , sometimes have to leave the company for the same .
Erm...canteen is ok. That is all.
The place is falling apart. It’s desperate, absolutely desperate to survive but it won’t. Unfortunately for Canon, their whole market has been disrupted significantly and they will now shrink and disappear unless they do something radical. It’s a dying industry and they know this. What that means is that its an incredibly miserable, depressing place to work and as an employee, you will likely be very unhappy as most people are. Please stay away from this company and don’t be tempted by the historic brand.
Software engineer
Sustinable and no restructuring recently
closured culture, not open minded.

Strict corporate structure, making advancement quit the process

Recycle team member

Job security good management a proactive company
Proactive activity can sometimes effect middle management.
it is nice talking to colleagues who experience the same as I. You are not alone in this company not feeling that great.
this is an organization where you are poorly paid despite many promises. The company policy is not followed by top management and even HR, but employees are corrected with it. Canon looks great on your resume, but don't stay there too long. Everything is going slow and it is becoming a UK stronghold and not EMEA great place to work.
Employees are professional and most of them working for over 10 years.
The salary is lower than market rate.
Sales associate
it was a quick commute
there was none to speak of
Business operations team
Cooked food in the canteen is reasonable
Management appears to focus primarily on directing staff to work toward targets that benefit their bonuses, while taking full credit for the outcomes. There are numerous non‑conformities, including concerns around financial practices, manipulated email figures, and an IT system that lacks proper archiving, leading to significant compliance issues. Many managers seem to observe from a distance without taking responsibility for ongoing problems. The overall environment feels exploitative, with a management style that relies on intimidation and humiliation.
Technical specialist
My direct manager is great and very supportive to his large team
3 senior executives don't care about employees. Toxic work culture Senior Executives rule by fear Not an inclusive workplace Massive turnover of staff which is a telling factor
Intern

Bdm
Good work environment, globally reputed brand
Regional management team not good, h r doesn't have much role to play
Sales development manager
Friendly atmosphere - work life balance is ok - promotes internally, which is good if you are able to wait
Sometimes slow to decide - office location is not the greatest - no career planning - no car allowance unless directors
Everyone in the company was super nice no matter what department you were from. Also, there were so many amazing events that were planned for the interns.
There was a significantly older work force compared to younger which always made me question mobility within the company. Other than that, nothing else negative.
Good resilient company to work for and very international look
Career progression within the company is very difficult and also mind the gap in salary market rate Vs Canon I believe it is estimated at a whopping 30% !
Senior software engineer
Sufficient training, Travel opportunities abroad
Slow growth, Archaic dev processes
Manager
This was an excellent working location, with very experienced resource in both technical and non-technical areas. Multinational exposure was an added bonus.
In my opinion, it appeared difficult to get move anything forward at speed. There appeared to be significant 'pushback' from experienced resource who had been with the organization for quite some time.
Ea country manager
Good working environment, global brand and good salary
Growth scope very minimum
Strengthen your technical and management competency via challenging projects Enrich your personal experiences via lengthy business trips or assignment overseas
The challenges can be really challenging ;)
No pros to list for Canon
Just a number not a person
more Risk averse and very conservative in management
Not innovative and does not embrace changes
Data analyst
Free parking, coffee, fruits, and nothing else
Working at Canon has been a challenging experience due to a toxic environment created by senior staff. Many of the seniors exhibit bullying behaviour, racism, and dishonesty. New joiners are often treated like outsiders, while management shows undue trust in senior staff, even when serious ethical concerns arise. If you attempt to leverage your skills and experiences to contribute to Canon’s growth—something you highlight during the hiring process—you may find yourself bullied and embarrassed instead. Opportunities to share ideas or work on projects are virtually nonexistent. Training is inadequate, and if you take the initiative to learn on your own and propose suggestions, management may view you as a problem. New joiners often become scapegoats in this environment, which is rife with micromanagement. Constant email checks and scrutiny of your behaviour create an atmosphere of fear. Additionally, the office location is inconvenient, making it difficult to balance work and personal life—it's a 30-minute walk from the nearest train station. There are no social events to foster a sense of community. Overall, I would not recommend working at Canon unless significant changes are made to address these issues.
a global recognised brand with quality products
HR is a disaster, communication is meaningless, vision is absent and there is no feeling within the company of any need to change from the old days of box shifting and sales. The outside world has changed and sadly Canon is not recognising this and probably will not notice as usual until 2 or 3 years after every one else has.
Senior marketing
Good products, nice people (with some exceptions)
Lack of future vision, upper management is reserved only for Japanese people that have no idea of market and or clientes
Technician
Include medical insurance for other family members
