I worked for Cargill for 4 years 2008-2011. Being a junior trader, my pay was $300/month. I exported highest cotton in country for consecutive 2 years. Managed warehouses acquisition, staff management, stock management, liaising with lLiverpool office for shipments, out sourced shipping agent management, trade development authority of Pakistan permits approvals for every shipment, liaising with shipping lines for containers as per requirement, fumigation of stocks to be shipped and the list can go on… which was only 20% of my job portfolio. Rest 80% was the edible oils trade. Sales to major refineries, acquisition of storage tanks as per stocks inflow, liaising with Singapore office for contracts and letter of credits, and making sure the the terms on letter of credit are per the contract, ensuring timely deliveries to buyers.. and lost goes on. The trader, my boss, was getting paid $6,000 per month and perks like a new car every three years and he gets to keep the old one. Basically what I am trying to elaborate is that this company may pretend to be honest and fair but they are not. All summer, during the cotton trade season, I will go home 10:00pm or later. Don’t get entangled with them. They will milk you and drain your last drop. They pretend to be such a good company with ethics and integrity, but a white lie. They will give you magazines every month beginning, showing what wonders they are doing, but don’t fall for them. They employe over 200,000 people and highlight an employee working in farms and portray to be so much of employee oriented. I gave my all to this company, but they never gave recognition.
