Senior manager
Dell is a great place to work. The company is dynamic and exciting and the people are great. You are using cutting edge technologies. Dell is a respected brand.
A distributed workforce can make it hard to make connections.

- Big company so lots of opportunities to find something you like or would like to break into - lots of free food and stuff from various partners
Frequent changes - constant big changes such as base pay (50% decrease in base recently) - return to office (given 1 biz day heads up) - layoffs (been here over a 1 year and have seen 2 layoffs happen already with more very likely to come) - sr. leadership changes, strict work hours (can't work less than 8hrs, no flexibility) - very much so a favoritism game, you have to know people and network and get along with people in order to get any movement - constantly asking sellers to sell but constantly making us do things that take us away from selling such as monthly trainings (3-4hrs a month on this) - unrealistic expectations such as having all your accounts (dozens) quoted within the first week of each quarter but expects everything to be customized and tailored to the customer (heads up, it is impossible to quote all accounts without sending generic quotes or not following up via email with customer) - you are treated like a child, not an exaggeration - NO WORK LIFE BALANCE

Great pay Challenging Benefits Work balance
Lack of culture In office benefits
Inside sales acount manager
Culture is good, benefits are good, people are good. If you are in Enterprise or DTS, life is a lot easier. Micro management is at a minimum there and…. No cold calling. Great company to start at and looks great on a resume. You will make lots of connections through peers and accounts. Really not a bad place to start a career in tech sales if you are patient and focused on building a career. To really get paid- leave and come back.
Pay is not on par with other tech companies. Base pay is low and they will make it very hard to hit your number. Success is dependent on a good account set. If you’re young… get the experience at Dell and go make more money somewhere else after a few years. Layoffs or reorgs every half/ start of fiscal year.
