- Workload can be challenging but it comes with lots of learning opportunities
Digital marketing executive
beneficial for fresh grad to learn in a fast paced environment
niched clientele & incredibly limited learning curve poor management where everyone is expected to overwork with minimum pay
The right choice if you thrive in an environment with a lot of learning opportunities and not the best fit if you prefer a laid-back, slow-paced lifestyle. This is the playground for hungry people who are ready to conquer the digital marketing world. Agency life is not for the sensitive and simple-minded. The people make the whole working experience memorable. If you can't swim, they will teach you or drown with you. Either way, it is a lot of fun working with a group of people who share a dark sense of humor. They make agency life manageable. I think a few words are not enough to describe the impact the CEO had on my working experience and my personal development. He is a great leader who has a heart of gold, even though he rarely shows it outwardly. He is quick to correct our mistakes, but that is the quality that makes him a great leader as he truly believes in bringing out the best in everyone. He holds a high standard of work and you learn the most from him. There is no office politics. Management practices an open environment and encourages sharing your opinions and feedback. You are free to walk up to anyone, including the CEO if you feel unheard or want to raise any concerns. That being said, don't be ridiculous and expect to be pampered. Recognition and promotions are evident for those willing to go the extra mile.
Honestly, the only con is the workload. You must understand the "agency life" if you are interested in joining one. The workload and expectations are high because mediocrity is not tolerated. However, the company is honest about this even from the hiring stages. People are often so busy and don't join the activities organized by the company resulting in little fun activities together but they make up for it with mamak sessions and "pantry banter".
Supportive team mates and management Learn a lot very fast Good opportunities for career growth
Fast-paced and challenging clients Short timelines
- Teammates are amazing - Great place to learn - Well known portfolio of clients
- Work life balance non-existent - Remuneration package will only attractive if you’re a long serving employee - Too many level of approval which makes the tasks more tedious than it is. - Lack of acknowledgement for the good stuff, heavy emphasis on the bad stuff which causes low employee morale
Graphic designer
