Staff food provided, good to learn something new if you have no previous experience
Super disorganised, unrealistic expectations and structural long term understaffing which in the end benefits the employer and makes dedicated employees overworking themselves

Bustling place to work, certain supervisors were very good and fostered a good working environment.

Good workplace culture. Associates are generally approachable and friendly to work with. People stay at Marriott because they’re comfortable. HQ is nice. The cafe and daycare is convenient but NOT subsidized. Maybe people would actually give it business if it were. Employee hotel discount is sparse but good if you can find it. It’s set by hotels and based on availability.
This company does not do promotions. You have to apply to open positions, if ever any. And they do not prioritize growing associates internally over hiring external candidates either. If you’re okay with that and just want a steady pay, then this is the place for you. Like I said, people stay at Marriott because they’re comfortable. HR is also not here to help the people. They rep the company. They never have answers as to why there is no upward mobility, nor is there a talent retention plan other than to continue encouraging us to take additional projects and trainings to “grow” our experience. You just go in circles if you try to ask them these questions. Expectations and responsibilities between Mgr, Sr Mgr, and Director level positions vary between departments. It’s ridiculous. In some departments you’re stuck as a Mgr and Sr Mgr role that would otherwise have been hired as a Sr Mgr or Director level in another department. There is no consistency nor plan to rectify, which continues to limit people’s ability to move up. As a result, young smart talented associates leave. How is any of the above putting associates first? Stop with that nonsense when you know well that associates’ immediate needs are just brushed aside and not talked about.
