Marriott offers a lot of opportunity to grow and move up quickly, with access to training, a massive network of colleagues that feels like a very small world, and structured pathways to leadership roles. The ability to move around and experience different properties is a plus.
For such a large, profitable company, the pay could be better, especially since it’s a 24-hour operation and very demanding work. One of Marriott’s core values is “Take care of associates and they will take care of the customers” which I really appreciate. However, I think there is more work needed by the company to take care of associates, especially in pay, benefits, and supporting work-life balance.
