Work is not given priority, only few managers know how to lead a team. Everyone who is good at there job don't spend more than a year in this place. They give good compensation but increment is purely based on how good you are in pleasing your boss. Rest doesn't matter even if you are pathetic at your job. Your Chinese colleague won't share any work detail with you and if anything goes sideways you will be blamed
