Anonymous employee
Good work life balance, straightforward work
Can be hard to adapt to new technologies
Manager, product management
Great benefits and culture that was difficult to leave.
Can't think of any negatives
Financial planning analyst
Work life balance Open door concept
Yearly salary Increment very small
Staff engineer
Seagate provides very good standard of work environment and support system.
Industry of making HDD seems declined for years making it more difficult be rich in liquidity and corporate expenses like past years so your wage could be not that good.
Senior engineer
Great people and interesting technology work.
Industry can be volitile at times.
Inside sales representative
Really great people to work with
Can be very political at times
Senior director, architecture
* Very good engineering and organization processes for hard drive design and manufacture * Top-notch talent and peers across multiple scientific disciplines * Good training to initiate new employees * Industry continues to be very relevant despite what tech idiots claim about SSD replacing HDD * Good benefits and decent work life balance
* Limited mobility/promotions * Pay used to be competitive; isn't anymore. Easy to find alternatives. * Executive management thinks the "HDD way" applies to other product/business lines and keeps imposing process and leadership ideas that don't work for non-HDD businesses. Can't think of the last non-HDD venture that succeeded.
Sales representative
Decent benefits ESPP 401k match+
Lousy sales tools to do job correctly Onboarding process is broken, zero training Extreme favoritism within leadership Zero growth opportunities
Engineering specialist
Job is manageable at times and a little more at times... Just do and collect parts..
The engineers sometimes don't even have the answers and expect you to have it .. some departments also have people who don't know what they are doing .. some of people are selfish in teaching or guiding..they have trainers but they just use email to teach and not guide you properly...

People are great. Products are great. Work life balance is good. Fairly transparent for a company this size.
Pay and benefits could be better.
