Job Description
The Operations Engineering Support 2 role involves performing complex technical support tasks with minimal supervision, requiring considerable judgment and initiative. The incumbent may provide functional guidance to others, work with internal and external stakeholders in problem-solving capacities, and handle tasks such as troubleshooting, repairing products and test equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining equipment spare parts inventory. This role requires knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems, as well as skills in reading schematics, product specifications, and performing tests and repairs.
Job Requirements
Two to four years of relevant experience.
A two or three year community college diploma in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of electrical, electromechanical, and pneumatic systems and principles of operation.
Strong knowledge of setup, operation, and maintenance of specific manufacturing equipment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and fabrication procedures.
Strong knowledge of electronic circuitry and testing and debugging procedures.
Knowledge of computer programming and ability to use position-specific applications such as C++.
Ability to read and interpret product specifications, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
Ability to use hand and power tools required for test assembly.
Knowledge of personal computers and Windows applications.
Excellent knowledge of quality standards.
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal customers.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, and hazardous substances.
Capability to perform sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and assemblies.
Physical ability for light physical effort, repetitive motions, sitting in confined spaces, and moving and handling materials.
Capability to perform periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects over 20 pounds.
