The Assistant Director of Finance at Sheraton Kota Kinabalu is responsible for developing and implementing property-wide financial strategies that support the brand's service goals and business objectives. This role provides financial expertise to facilitate the execution of the brand's service strategy and initiatives while maximizing return on investment and aligning business plans with both property and brand strategies. Key duties include assisting in strategic planning, budget creation, financial analysis, and ensuring strong accounting controls, as well as leading the finance and accounting team to meet financial and operational goals.
Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major with at least 1 year of experience in finance or accounting, or a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major with no work experience required.
Ability to conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic planning and budgeting.
Experience in managing accounting controls and ensuring compliance with standard and local operating procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence a finance team.
Capability to manage audits and oversee financial reporting processes.
Ability to understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders including owners and corporate management.
Skills in preparing accurate profit and loss documentation and monitoring tax compliance.
Experience in developing performance and budget goals and improving profit growth.
Competence in managing working capital and cash flow according to brand and owner requirements.
Ability to implement human resource activities such as training, development, and performance reviews within the finance team.
Knowledge of producing financial reports, presentations, and reconciling balance sheets in compliance with standard operating procedures.
