Job Description
The data scientist role at Zurich involves leveraging data to deliver daily insights by mining, interpreting, and cleaning data. The individual will collaborate with product design and engineering teams, develop innovative statistical models including advanced AI techniques such as LLMs and agentic AI, and communicate findings to stakeholders. The role also involves enabling smarter business processes through analytics and staying current with developments in generative AI and autonomous agent systems. The data scientist will act as a data strategist identifying and integrating new datasets, execute analytical experiments, devise algorithms and models for big data, analyze trends, implement machine learning models in production, and utilize Azure technologies to deploy AI applications.
Job Requirements
Three or more years of experience in data science or proven experience.
Advanced experience in pattern recognition, predictive modeling, and generative AI (LLMs, transformers, etc.).
Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, OpenAI APIs).
Familiarity with agentic AI concepts and frameworks (e.g., AutoGPT, BabyAGI, CrewAI).
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, research-oriented group that has several concurrent projects.
Experience in data mining.
Understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and operations research.
Knowledge of R, SQL, and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java.
Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) and data frameworks (e.g., Azure, AWS, Hadoop, RDMS).
Analytical mind and business acumen.
Strong math skills.
Problem-solving aptitude.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred.
Able to multitask and manage projects with minimal supervision.
