The General Ledger Team Leader will oversee the finance team within the Global Business Services division, focusing on managing end-to-end processes and service delivery in Finance Shared Services. The role involves ensuring accurate financial data, managing month-end and year-end closures, and leading operational improvements in accordance with Corporate Accounting Guidelines.
The General Ledger Team Leader will join the Global Business Services division at Wilhelmsen, focusing on taking responsibility for end-to-end processes and service delivery within the General Ledger (GL) team in Finance Shared Services. The role includes leading the transition of accounting and finance knowledge from local finance offices, improving operational effectiveness, ensuring accuracy of financial data according to Corporate Accounting Guidelines, managing month-end and year-end closures, providing guidance and development for the team, and ensuring service delivery meets defined Service Level Agreements.
+5 years experience in finance processing in a high volume environment.
+2 years of management experience as GL Team Leader within SSC environmental.
Master or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent accounting certification is preferred.
Strong proven leadership skills required.
Strong communication and cooperation skills are essential.
Customer and service-oriented thinking.
Demonstrated experience and general knowledge of accounting principles.
Extensive experience in managing transactional activities (GL, IC).
Previous experience in migration of processes and/or system implementation preferred.
Experience of using enterprise systems preferred (e.g. IFS, SAP, Oracle).
A structured methodical approach is necessary.
Excellent English skills required, written and verbal.
Additional European / Middle Eastern / Asian language skills will be advantageous.
