Job Description

The Hygiene Manager at Sheraton Kota Kinabalu oversees daily operations related to food hygiene and safety, ensuring that all staff adhere to established standards. This position involves training new hires, conducting inspections, and providing technical advice to maintain high hygiene standards across all food and beverage areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Advise on proper food handling practices.
  • Provide food hygiene training to new hires and trainees.
  • Identify risk areas in food operations and take preemptive action.
  • Conduct inspections related to kitchen hygiene and vendor practices.
  • Provide technical advice on product labeling to meet government requirements.
  • Handle complaints or inquiries from customers and health departments regarding food hygiene.
  • Coordinate cleaning programs and pest control efforts.
  • Maintain hygiene documentation and improve hygiene standards.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related area, or a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major.

Preferred qualifications include an Environmental Health Degree or Culinary Degree.

Experience in managing hygiene and food safety operations.

Ability to verify compliance with standards and regulations related to food hygiene and safety.

Skill in advising and training food handlers on proper food handling practices.
