The role is for an Internship Chambering Student who will assist in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and supporting lawyers during hearings and trials. The position involves various administrative and legal support tasks under supervision in a legal setting.
The role involves drafting legal documents such as affidavits, cause papers, letters, and simple agreements. The candidate will conduct legal research, prepare research notes or case summaries, assist lawyers during hearings and trials, file documents through the e-filing system, attend client meetings, manage correspondences, and review documents for accuracy and compliance under supervision.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and has completed Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP).
Good command of English and Malay (both written and spoken), proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous but not compulsory.
Responsible, disciplined, and able to meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to interact with clients when needed.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a legal team.
Good attention to detail and willingness to learn litigation, conveyancing, or corporate work depending on the firm’s practice.
