The IT Support Engineer intern is responsible for providing technical support and assistance in the installation and maintenance of IT equipment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services and compliance with security policies in a dynamic work environment.
Job Description
As an IT Support Engineer intern, you will engage in daily tasks that involve troubleshooting technical issues and assisting with the setup of desktops and laptops. You will work closely with the IT team to ensure that all systems are functioning optimally and that security measures are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and set up new and existing desktops and laptops.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to software, network, printer, laptop, and workstation.
- Roll out upgrades and security patches to laptops and workstations.
- Understand and enforce security and compliance policies.
- Document and monitor all problem/resolution activities in the helpdesk system.
- Provide bookkeeping for IT infrastructure such as equipment asset tagging and user database updates.
- Assist with pricing research and purchase price tracking.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLA) for 24/7 production and support environments are maintained.
Job Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
Good knowledge in setting up and configuring networking and computing devices.
Experience in installing Windows and Linux on physical machines or VMs in the cloud.
Experience in installing application software on Windows or Linux.
Proficient in speaking, writing, and reading in English.
Ability to work as part of a team and follow through on assigned tasks to completion.
Good positive attitude and a can-do mindset.
