Role Summary
This position is for an IT Support Engineer intern responsible for installing and configuring desktops and laptops, troubleshooting technical issues, and applying security updates. The role includes maintaining documentation, assisting with IT infrastructure management, and supporting 24/7 production and support environments. The intern will gain experience in IT management and troubleshooting in a team setting.
Job Description
The IT Support Engineer intern is responsible for installing and setting up new and existing desktops and laptops, troubleshooting technical issues related to software, network, printer, laptop, and workstation, and rolling out upgrades and security patches to laptops and workstations. The role involves understanding and enforcing security and compliance policies, documenting and monitoring all problem/resolution activities in the helpdesk system, providing bookkeeping for IT infrastructure such as equipment asset tagging and user database updates, assisting with pricing research and purchase price tracking, and ensuring Service Level Agreements (SLA) for 24/7 production and support environments are maintained.
Job Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
Good knowledge in setting up and configuring networking and computing devices.
Experience in installing Windows and Linux on physical machine or VM in the cloud.
Experience in installing application software on Windows or Linux.
Experience in Microsoft domain networking and Office 365 environment is a plus.
Proficient in speaking, writing and reading in English.
Ability to work as part of a team and follow through on assigned task to completion.
Good positive attitude – not afraid to take on challenges and has a can-do mind-set.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Self-motivated and desire to learn new skills.
