Job Description
The Production Manager 2 position involves providing direct and indirect supervision to team leaders and professional employees within a manufacturing site with fewer than 400 employees. The role requires applying in-depth professional knowledge to manage department performance, establish policies and production goals, oversee budget development and management, and ensure quality and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. The manager interacts with various internal and external stakeholders, manages resources, promotes teamwork across functions, and is responsible for employee performance management including hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
Job Requirements
Seven to ten years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production quality and quantity metrics.
Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve high production levels within tight time deadlines and in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.
Ability to use some or all of the following PC applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, Powerpoint.
In-depth knowledge of the production process and the tools and equipment used in the process.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the business unit and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery and the profitability of the unit.
Duties performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
Duties may require periodic sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
Occasional overnight travel is required.
Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines.
