How much does a fresh graduate software engineer earn?

On SuperJobs, full-time software developer roles that ask for no experience had a median advertised salary of RM5,250 a month on 1 October 2026, with the middle half of offers between RM3,875 and RM8,750.

That figure rests on only 11 listings that showed pay, so treat it as a direction. The wide range reflects very different employers, from small agencies paying under RM4,000 to technology companies and banks paying well above RM6,000 for strong graduates.

Of the 323 software roles live on SuperJobs on 1 October 2026, 59 were internships. Across information technology internships that showed an allowance, the median was RM925 a month, with the middle half between RM762 and RM1,144 (30 listings).
