Job Description

The Public Area Supervisor at Sheraton Kota Kinabalu is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and condition of assigned areas meet designated standards using checklists. This role involves identifying and reporting maintenance issues, coordinating repairs, maintaining cleaning equipment, completing housekeeping paperwork, responding promptly to requests, and assisting management with employee-related tasks. The supervisor also ensures compliance with safety policies, maintains professional appearance, welcomes guests, supports team goals, and performs physical tasks related to the position.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Ability to use checklists to ensure cleanliness and condition standards are met.

Ability to identify and report maintenance issues effectively.

Capability to coordinate and request repairs using appropriate methods.

Skills to maintain and store cleaning equipment properly.

Proficiency in completing required paperwork related to housekeeping.

Ability to respond promptly to various requests from guests and staff.

Willingness to assist management in employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching.

Commitment to follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.

Capability to maintain uniform and personal appearance clean and professional.

Ability to welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards and assist individuals with disabilities.

Skill in developing and maintaining positive working relationships and supporting team goals.

Effective communication skills using clear and professional language.

Physical ability to move, lift, carry and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance.

Ability to handle work-related machinery and perform physical activities such as reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking for extended periods.

Manual dexterity for manipulating objects and computer proficiency for entering and locating work-related information.
