The Purchasing Manager leads the local procurement team in Seremban to execute strategic sourcing plans and ensure supply chain efficiency. This role focuses on managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving operational excellence to support the plant's production targets.
As the Purchasing Manager, you will manage and coordinate all local purchasing activities for the plant, translating global strategies into local action plans. You are responsible for the entire procurement process of production and non-production materials, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management. The role involves leading a team, driving continuous improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. You will also contribute to strategic planning regarding investments and capacity to achieve operational targets.
University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in various purchasing functions.
At least 3 years in a leadership position with disciplinary responsibility.
Strong expertise in supplier negotiation, pricing, and contract management.
Knowledge of purchasing statutory and regulatory requirements for international shipments.
Experience in rubber and plastic production processes is highly preferred.
Proficiency in implementing continuous improvement (CBS) methods and training.
Ability to lead cross-functional projects and perform supplier auditing.
