The Purchasing Manager / Assistant Purchasing Manager at Sheraton Johor Bahru is responsible for managing established procedures related to ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, and payment of items. This role includes formulating an approved vendors list and collaborating with various departments to ensure purchasing activities align with financial and operational goals. The position demands oversight of inventory management, cost control, sanitation, and safety standards, as well as strong communication with kitchen staff, vendors, and management to support efficient food and beverage purchasing operations. The role also involves administrative duties, reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting and property operation standards.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Purchasing or a related field.

Ability to follow established procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, and payment processes.

Competence in using computer programs for inventory, cost calculation, and reporting tasks.

Knowledge of sanitation, safety standards, and inventory controls within the purchasing context.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff, vendors, and management.

Ability to manage reports, presentations, and documentation accurately and timely.

Understanding of accounting principles relevant to purchasing operations.

Capacity to support financial and operational goals through disciplined purchasing practices.

Skill in problem-solving, decision-making, and applying relevant policies and procedures.
