The Senior Specialist, Cyber Defense is responsible for leading investigations into cybersecurity incidents. This role plays a critical part in managing the response process and ensuring effective communication within the Incident Management team.
Job Description
As a Senior Specialist in Cyber Defense, you will engage in day-to-day activities that involve managing cybersecurity incidents and conducting thorough analyses. You will work closely with both internal and external teams to ensure a robust cybersecurity posture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead investigations of cybersecurity incidents from escalation to reporting
- Conduct live response analysis, network analysis, and log analysis
- Communicate investigative progress and findings to the Incident Management team
- Manage incident intake using the internal case management system
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in cybersecurity meetings
- Collaborate with the Security Operations Center on incident management
- Develop and implement strategies for incident response and remediation
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH)
Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or related field
Strong understanding of incident response processes
Excellent communication and analytical skills
