Role Summary
The Specialist Nurse, Labour & Delivery is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to newborns requiring close monitoring and medical support. This role plays a critical part in ensuring optimal patient care and involves collaboration with healthcare team members.
Job Description
In this role, the Specialist Nurse will engage in day-to-day activities that include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing health education to parents. The work environment is dynamic, requiring adaptability and a commitment to quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor vital signs and assess newborns' conditions.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop care plans.
- Provide health education and support to parents.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
Job Requirements
Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Post Basic qualification in Neonate.
Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of clinical experience.
Possess certification in BLS and NRP.
Proficient in writing and conversing in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
Willingness to work on scheduled hours, shifts, and weekends.
