Assistant marketing manager
21 days Annual Leave and 21 days sick leave, can wear casual on Fri and eve of public holiday, can claim insurance annually(eg. rider), dental/optical SGD200/year, transport allowance of SGD100 for executive and above. Get to use Microsoft 365 enterprise account, good for work collaboration. Can come back late from lunch break and no one really care as long as you are productive and your work is justified.
Leaders are followers here, no room for creativity in setting strong marketing strategies. Lack of marketing creativity. Top mgmt select the wrong people to lead and does not retain talented ones that really knows how to work, talented staff does not get promotion when deserve. Must wait 2 years to be considered for promotion, depends on work contributed to the numbers. Chosen promoted leaders are based on tenure and flattery skills. Shortchange on VB to those who scored very well in KPI or worked hard to achieve more than what was expected in the year due to “bell curve” and “not your turn yet” attitude. Does not care on skillsets, as long as you are known for flattery, working late and sending emails at night to show you are hard working. Leaders have no idea how to optimize and fully use Cloud tech in MS365.
Software engineer
Good technical training and exposure to software development
The hectic, japanese culture. Overtime becomes the norm
European product sales development professional
Big name, decent benefits, average salary
No life balance. Working hours from 7:30 to 22:30 on average. Senior management poor both in terms of business and of soft skills. The culture there is not about work a lot but more about pretend to work a lot by doing no sense hours.
