Manufacturing test engineer
Fair benefits, nice people, flexible hours, easy (if that's a pro to you).
Corpo nonsense first and foremost, people last. Cheap compared to other companies. Management is filled with yes-men that make little consideration for people below them. Bad ideas come from above from people who have no clue what they're doing. These ideas become everyone's number one priority so your Manager can look good. As a contract manufacturer, engineering jobs have very little to do with engineering. Pretty much everything will have already been engineered, you're just bringing it to a new place. A layman could engineer here. Any complicated question, just go ask the customer who did all the real engineer work.
Production assembler
Flexible hours and paid overtime depending on your department
No benefits for contract employee
A lot of work to do. Business is expanding. A lot of training to new worker. Diverse cultures.
Not many chances for contract worker to be converted to permanent position.
